Virginia Power Kites offers PASA certified instruction. That means that you can receive up to $1,000,000 liability insurance, get certified as a kiteboarder according to PASA methodology, receive a 20% discount on iKitesurf's wind reports, and receive a subscription to a kiteboarding magazine. PASA is a reputable organization that officially trains kiteboarding instructors according to an established curriculum.
We can teach you at the Hampton Roads Back River area at Factory Point or at Messick Point. To find directions to these locations, type "Messick Point" or "Factory Point" into the google search engine, and you will see how to get to these locations. Flat water is ideal for learning. Lessons include all equipment and gear. We will teach you how to water start, and our goal is to get you to become a self-sufficient rider in three days. In this camp, we will give you the skills to rig your kite, to practice self-launching, self-rescue, and to ride in any direction you want. Students learn differently, and we develop different teaching styles for different types of students, but we will give you the skills and the knowledge to enjoy this sport safely for years. Kitesurfing can be an extreme sport if you don't understand how to use your safety systems and the different gear that has progressed over the years. We will give you the knowledge to judge where to kite and how to kiteboard effectively.
* receive kiteboarding instruction from 9-5 p.m. (lunch breaks will be necessary)
* learn in flat, shallow water
